I seek to provide a safe space for children, adolescents, and adults to be heard and affirmed. Being strong and not reaching out for help or seeking mental health treatment is a concept that has harmed many in our community. I have a passion for destigmatizing mental health care, especially in marginalized communities, and believe mental health care is an integral part of self-care.

I believe in an individualized, client-centered, self-empowerment approach, in which “self” is the key. You are the expert on you and will take the lead and decide what we talk about, what we work on in our sessions, and the desired outcomes of therapy. My commitment to you is to listen and provide a confidential, judgment-free, safe, and affirming space in which you can express complex emotions and discuss your needs, identify, and set goals, and formulate an actionable plan. We will work collaboratively to discover your strengths and work thru potential obstacles along your journey.

I am an African American “non-traditional” Master of Social Work intern and graduate student at the University of Houston. My life experiences, as well as experience in the corporate world, provide significant insight and resourcefulness for those who may be struggling with issues. Treatment modalities practiced include Motivational Interviewing and  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also offer the opportunity to go outside and do “walk and talk” therapy.

To remove potential barriers to care, I offer evening and weekend appointments to fit your school or work schedule, as well as virtual appointments. In addition, in exceptional circumstances, I am able to offer services at a reduced fee
